SRPe Workshop in Robotics, Autonomous Systems and AI in Advanced Manufacturing

SRPe held a workshop in Robotics, Autonomous Systems and AI in Advanced Manufacturing on 14th May 2019 at the Technology & Innovation Centre, Glasgow.

Delivered as part of SRPe’s ‘RAS & AI Impact Acceleration Initiative’ funded by the Scottish Funding Council, the workshop brought together key academics from across the Scottish Research Partnership in Engineering working in robotics, autonomous systems, artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing in Scotland.

The workshop was led by the Chair of SRPe’s Robotics & Autonomous Systems Thematic Leadership Group (RAS-TLG), Prof Yvan Petillot (Heriot-Watt University); the Chair of SRPe’s Advanced Manufacturing Thematic Leadership Group (AM-TLG) Prof Bill Ion (University of Strathclyde) and the SRPe RAS & AI Initiative Coordinator, Claire Ordoyno.

This showcased the wealth of research in RAS & AI and Advanced Manufacturing across Scotland’s universities and collaborative relationships were further strengthened to target high impact industrially-focused collaborative research programmes.

A future RAS & AI applications in Advanced Manufacturing workshop will be held with industry to establish academic-industry collaborations to accelerate towards targeted research bids.
