SRPe / ETP Workshop: ‘Infrastructure and Supply Chain for Net Zero Delivery - a Strategic Approach’
On 18th Jan ’24, SRPe and ETP held a joint workshop on ‘Infrastructure and Supply Chain for Net Zero Delivery - a Strategic Approach’.
Hosted at the Technology and Innovation Centre, Glasgow, the workshop brought together over 50 delegates from across academia, industry, public sector and Scottish Government to discuss the key challenges around Net Zero Buildings and supply chain, innovation and procurement.
The workshop comprised keynotes from Prof Sean Smith, University of Edinburgh (SRPe Infrastructure and Environment Theme Chair) and Stephen Good (Built Environment – Smarter Transformation CEO), who also sat on a panel alongside Mary Mitchell - Chief Procurement Officer, Scotland Excel, Iain Marley - CEO, Hub West and Jamie Speirs - Deputy Director Centre for Energy Policy, University of Strathclyde for an audience Q&A.
Breakout sessions were chaired in the afternoon covering the topics of: Workforce, Technologies, Infrastructure, Policy and Regulation, and Economic benefits / Local ownership and place-based equity. The outcomes and discussion points from the workshop will be used to design future targeted events, driving forward a joined up approach.
