Engagement Workshop with SRPe Northern Partners and the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland

On 7th September ’23, SRPe held a workshop to enhance engagement between the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) and the SRPe Northern Partner Universities (University of Dundee, University of Aberdeen and Robert Gordon University).

Hosted by the University of Dundee, the workshop comprised presentations from SRPe Executive Director Claire Ordoyno, Avril Thomson (NMIS Head of Skills) and David Watson (NMIS Business Development Manager), with capability overviews from the 3 universities, an overview of the Tayside Innovation Medtech Ecosystem (a partnership between the University of Dundee, NHS Tayside and commercial partners), and knowledge sharing of a KTP project between the University of Dundee and industry partner ATL Turbine Services. A follow-on visit is planned by academics to visit the NMIS HQ in Glasgow. The event forged links between the SRPe Northern Partners and the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland, and showcased some fantastic examples of industry-academia collaboration
